Some areas of the subdivision require elevating the first floor level in order to meet FEMA requirements. This is accomplished by constructing a
"retaining wall foundation" which minimizes the amount of fill which is placed on the lot.


The retaining wall on the left has been constructed to elevate the swimming pool. The wooden bridge crosses a nearby creek to the tennis courts which are also elevated. These construction techniques allow the creek and area in between the structures to remain in their natural state as shown below.

 



Protective fences are always used during construction.



Trees contained within the median of the 3/4 mile long main boulevard have been carefully protected. The key was to build the streets as close to natural ground elevation as possible.


Notice the fire hydrant in the median. The water line runs just under the edge of the street and tees off into the median. Trees in close proximity have been saved.
